What we weren’t expecting was Gundars going the extra mile and taking his personal time to help us imprint family hand and paw prints in the concrete. While we could have gone to Home Depot and tried this ourselves, it would have been a disaster. Instead Gundars worked with us to find the right time and then set up the concrete himself and walked us through the process. We never requested this, he offered without prompting. “It is no exaggeration to say that Stonehenge Foundations saved our basement from becoming a swimming pool. Our house was built in 1919. We bought it in 1997 and began to renovate. The basement always leaked during heavy rainstorms. We ignored the problem; old houses are never perfect. Over the years the leaks became streams. Still, we ignored it. After one particularly soggy incident, we realized we risked disaster unless we paid as much attention to the foundations as we had to the rest of the house. Stonehenge dug an inspection trench. The news was not good. The bricks were crumbling, victims of nearly a century of freeze-thaw cycles made more frequent in recent years by climate change. The trench was enlarged and gaping holes were found. Basement floods would be inevitable. We hired Stonehenge to waterproof and reinforce the basement. A trench was dug along the perimeter of the house. The bricks were repaired and a special concrete cladding was used for water-proofing. The work was done quickly. The driveway was repaved. The basement is now watertight. We know because our basement was one of the few on the street that remained bone dry during last year’s relentless rain. Our only regret was not getting the foundation work done earlier. Waiting does not make the problem go away. It only makes it more expensive.”

Two or three days into our driveway and front yard landscaping project, we discovered that we needed to waterproof one side of our house … The whole operation was done so quickly that the entire project was completed in the ten days originally estimated for the job. The guys work hard and efficiently, cleaning up remarkably well at the end of each day. What’s more, every one of them was friendly and intelligent and always more than willing to explain to us exactly what they were doing. It’s hard to exaggerate how helpful their attitude was as we lived through a messy, noisy job. It looks great and your guys couldn’t have been nicer to work with.”
